i'm sorry but the festive period is all well and good but you don't half have a lot of time to do nothing. so just wondering whether everyone got the dvds they were hoping for.

I have all the time in the world! It's the best present of all. I got three p'taters, a bucket full'a peli-cans, and Satan! (If you know where this comes from then God help you) I also got me "Tuxicity" by Richard Cheese and "Director's Cut" by Fantomas, Hamlet in Klingon, Cologne (Gucci Envy...for men), an Egyptian trinket from Green Earth, and some old second-hand computer games. And a few bucks for good measure.

As for DVD's, I got Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy and The Big Lebowski.

Off topic, has anybody here heard of a Frighteners Signature Edition? Not the greatest movie ever, yet nonetheless something I wouldn't mind unwrapping: It's supposed to be an LOTR-esque treatment of the film containing a five-hour documentary describing every aspect of production in detail, in addition to commentary from Peter Jackson. I can just picture the drool running down Untamed Aggression's chin as his pupils widen into dinner plates. Too bad it isn't on DVD (can anyone confirm this?) last I heard it was on laserdisc.

However, the greatest gift would be sleep, but unfortunately, it hasn't arrived yet.

Or an S-Mart Ash action figure.

Or a gorilla.

I got a Canon Powershot A80 Digital Camera. I've been going on and on about one for the past year so my wonderful Fianc? finally bought me one to shut me up. My campaign for a new widescreen TV starts in earnest.

Plus I got 28 days later and Platoon on DVD.

I don't own a television(Honest Truth). So I don't get DVDs. But back in October Kodak gave me a bunch of film for free--As an Xmas gift from the rep. It was turned into a great little gem. Now, I just need a set of Cooke S4 Cine-Lenses to drop through the chimney.

Maybe im wrong here... but in your line of work wouldnt owning a TV and watching other peoples work be expected of you?

I will answer by asking....Does a writer need to read other peoples books/poems??

It actually kinda fucks up my head when I see to many movies I start thinking about how my work is to much like so-and-so's. Thus I just stay blissfully ignorant to the world.

What I do is read, take stills, look at stills, look at paintings. I try to do things that allow me to get a sense of light and composition without actually moving.

I do watch the occasional movie--Most of the time under pressure from friends. However, I do have an Eiki EX-6000(1000 Watt Xenon!!!) projector in my "Home Theatre" which allows me to actually watch films. It doesn't get used all the time but there are parties and the occasional print rental that goes on. There is nothing like watching a classic on film.

Over all, I would rather walk through a museum, read a script or make a movie than watch one.
